Implementing Decision No.682/QĐ-BCA-V12 of the Ministry of
Public Security, from the date of 10th to 16th, August
2013, the delegation of senior officials of the PPA led by Major General, Prof.
Dr. Nguyen Huy Thuat, Vice President of the Academy visited and worked with
some of Laos P.D.R local authorities under the invitation of Major General Xom
Suc Xim Pha Vong, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee,
Vice President of Xieng Khoang Province of Laos P.D.R.

Under
cooperation Agreement on training between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam
and the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia, on August 16th, 2013, the PPA formally
held the opening ceremony on economic police training course for the Ministry
of Interior of Cambodia.

With the
approval of the Ministry of Public Security, Lieutenant General. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, President of the PPA visited
and worked with the Institute for Criminal Justice Studies (ICJS) of the
University of Portsmouth from July 23rd, 2013 to August 6th,
2013. The University of Portsmouth currently is ranked 25 out of 250 universities of the UK and is ranked the 3rd
level in all universities specializing in training criminal justice and
criminology in the UK.

Under the consent of the leaders of the Ministry
of Public Security in deploying international cooperation activities between
the PPA and the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam, on 15th August, 2013, the
PPA in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy
in Hanoi organized a scientific seminar on the relationship between lawyer and
investigator with the assistance of the legal experts of the U.S.A and investigators
and teachers of the police training centers of the M.P.S of Vietnam.

Implementing
cooperative Agreement on training between the Ministry of Public Security of
Vietnam and the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia, on August 13th, 2013, the PPA
formally held the opening ceremony on criminal investigation police training
course for the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia .

In the framework of
cooperation activity between the PPA and the United Kingdom Embassy in Hanoi,
on August 12th, 2013, Lieutenant General, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem,
President of the PPA worked with the Representative of the Serious Organized
Crime Agency (SOCA) in Hanoi. Attending the working session were Mr. Graham
Orr, Chief Representative of the SOCA in charge of Indochina; Mr. Timothy
Gerrish, specialist of the program on
child abuse and exploitation crime prevention.

Implementing cooperative
Agreement on training between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and
the Ministry of Public Security of Laos P.D.R, on August 9th, 2013, the PPA
formally held the opening ceremony of police training course on prisoner
education and correction for the Ministry of Public Security of Laos P.D.R.

From 12th to 13th, July 2013, Mr.
Kim Yong Mok, Chairman of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)
visited and worked in Vietnam, aiming at checking, appreciating and orienting
cooperative activities and technology support between the two countries. On
this occasion, Major General, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Vice President of the PPA
and leaders of functional units within the PPA had a paying courtesy with
Chairman Kim Yong Mok. After the visit, Mr. Kim Yong Mok sent a thank letter to
the PPA.

On 29th
July, the PPA held a ceremony on announcing decision of ranking and salary
promotion for 173 police officers and staffs who are currently working at the Academy.
Attending and presiding the ceremony was Senior Colonel, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen
Thien Phu, Vice President of the PPA, leadership representatives of the
functional units within the PPA and all of promoted officers in this time.

On 27th July, 2013, the PPA Youth
Union participated in first cross-country blood donation campaign with the
title of “Red Journey” at My Dinh stadium, Hanoi.

On 26th
July, 2013, on the occasion of celebrating 66th anniversary of War Invalid and
Martyrs Day (27th July, 1947 – 27th July, 2013), the PPA’s
Youth Union, led by Colonel Dang Duc Nghia, Head of Party, Politics and Organization’s
Movement Management Department visited and presented gift for war invalids,
sick soldiers and relatives of the martyr’s families.

On 22nd
July, 2013, the PPA held the flag Ceremony to open the new school year
2013-2014 and inaugurated the exhibition hall of traditional costumes of ethnic
minority groups in Vietnam. Attending the Ceremony, there were Lieutenant
General, Prof.Dr Nguyen Xuan Yem, President of the PPA and the Directorates,
officers, lecturers and students of the Academy.

On 23rd July
2013, the delegation of Representative Agency of the Lao Ministry of Public
Security in Vietnam led by Colonel Kiengkham Inphenthavong, Chief
representative visited and congratulated the PPA on the occasion of 51-year Aniversary of the People’s
Police Force. Senior Colonel, Assco.Prof.Dr Nguyen Thien Phu, Vice President of
the PPA and leadership representative of the functional units within the
Academy received and welcomed the delegation from the Representative Agency and
M.P.S of Lao P.D.R

Under the international cooperation program
between the PPA and the Embassy of the USA in Hanoi on 17th June
2013, at the PPA headquarter, Senior Colonel, Dr. Tran Minh Chat, Vice
President of the PPA received and worked Mr. Kevin Schwartz, official of the Asia Regional Office within the Department
of Executive and International Drug Control, U.S. Department of State; Mr.
Jason Hwang, political official of the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi and some officials
from the Embassy.

According to the
KOICA proposal, on 14th June 2013, the PPA had a meeting with survey
experts delegation led by Mr. Jang Yun Sik, Director of International Cyber
Crime Researching Center, Korea National Police University (KNPU), Mr. Yoon Hee
Seog, the second secretary, police attaché in Hanoi; and Korean high-rank
officials of the KOICA and the representatives from the Korean Embassy in
Vietnam as well.
