As a part of framework of the Traffic Police Training at the People’s Police Academy (PPA) and other police training institutions in Vietnam, which is sponsored by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) of Japanese Government, on June 8th, the PPA held a scientific workshop “Toward the traffic safety research centre – Initial scientific research outcomes” under the chair of Colonel, Dr. Nguyen Duc Binh, Deputy Director of the PPA.

In response to the World Blood Donor Day (June 14th) and implementing blood donation program “Sentimental blood for beloved comrades” mobilized by the MPS, on May 30th, the PPA Steering Committee of Blood Donation Campaign in cooperation with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion under the Bach Mai Hospital, 19-8 Hospital under the MPS launched blood donation campaign “blood donation to save life for a healthy community”.

Under the treaty on training cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Cambodian Ministry of Home, on April 27th, 2011, in Dong Nai Province, the PPA formally held the opening ceremony of thirdteen leader further training course for Cambodian Ministry of Home.

In a framework of Professional Master’s Degree Program on Criminology and Criminal Justice between the PPA and the University of Maryland, on May 10th, 2011, Director of National Consortium for Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) and lecturer of Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, University of Maryland, US, Professor Gary Lafree is at the People’s Police Academy, Ha Noi, Viet Nam to give lectures to the Program’s first cohort on CCJS600 Course, which is Criminal Justice System in the U.S.

The Department of Marine Police in coordination with the People’s Police Academy under the Ministry of Police has opened a training course on drug prevention for officials and soldiers.

With the agreement of the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Defense and support of the Naval Command, the Department of Marine Police and the Marine Police Region 3, between March 30th, 2011 and April 7th, 2011, the PPA delegation led by Colonel, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Huy Thuat, Deputy Director of the PPA together with 20 officers and leaders of faculties, departments, basic studies, centers and student visited and gave gifts for the Truong Sa army and people. Accompany with the delegation, there are leaders from the Drug Crime Prevention Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security, the Department of Marine Police and the Marine Police Region 3.

On March 17th, the People’s Police Academy (PPA) formally held the opening ceremony of the High-tech Crime Prevention Faculty. Also, at the ceremony, a Memorandum of Understanding between the PPA with the Department of High-tech Crime Prevention under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and the FPT Corporation signed.

Under the agreement of leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, on November 18th, 2010, the People’s Police Academy (PPA) in cooperation with the International Cooperation Department, the University of Flinder, Australia and the Australian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City held a seminar on “Modern criminal technique and science and their role in work of education and training, crime prevention”.

As a part of framework of cooperative project with the Danish Institute for Human Rights, the Switzerland Embassy in Vietnam, the UK Embassy in Vietnam on guaranteeing human rights in police work, under the consent of the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, the People’s Police Academy (PPA) in cooperation with the Lang Son Police, the Danish Institute for Human Rights, between January 18th-20th, 2011 in Lang Son Province, held a workshop on “Human rights in criminal investigation”.
